Chocolate Grotesque – Self Initiated Project
Chocolate Grotesque is a project that began with an unnamed, hand-cut, worn letterpress font found in a type specimen book.I decided to revive the font for both use in my personal design identity and also a unique chocolate bar in the style of a letterpress metal type lockup. To produce the bar I had to 3D print it as single piece of resin, then mould it in liquid silicone, before filling it with Rococo chocolate. The wrapper was hand printed from metal plates to achieve the aesthetic of original printing specimens. These limited edition bars are a self promotional tool, intended to showcase my interests as a designer.
